Muzzy's Turbo kit for the ZX-10R

www.muzzys.com (couldn't find it on their site)

They claim 400 HP theoretically, whatever that means? You KNOW they have had it on a dyno.

wow, thats retarded, at least if its going anywhere but the drag strip (which I have a feeling its not).

I must not get it, that bike has almost 10 times the horsepower of my bike, and I can't think of any reason somebody needs that.

There is NEVER enough power!!!

Posted by: paperairplane

If Muzzy says a kawasaki makes that kind of power - I believe him.

I believe they reccomend that you keep it at 275 for street applications.

I could get my ZRX into the 250hp range with a turbo, still streetable. The turbo guys on the board claim they can do roll-on wheelies in 5th gear at 100+. Crazy stuff.

I want a small supercharger like the one they fitted to the Scooter - screw turbos

Posted by: 87hurricane

I'd take a turbo over a supercharger any day. More power without robbing power from the engine to drive it.

Turbos are so good these days, there is little to no "turbo lag", even on something that moves very little air relative to a car. So good in fact, that turbos are now the choice, not superchargers, when it comes to ridiculous modifications for the sake of HP. Engines like the bandit, and the Zrex lend themselves to a turbo because of the relatively low compression ratioes, and larger blocks not bored out to their weights limits (thin walled) from the factory. Doing it efficiently to a ZX-10R is a hell of an accomplishment without blowing it up regularly. Pretty cool!

That's absolutely INSANE!

Recent motorcyclist had a turbo triumph and vrod, both over 200 hp. They used variable vane turbos to reduce lag.

Plus when you start with something like a 10R, it is so damn fast anyway that even if there is a little lag you will never notice it.

Besides, most bikes you're only going to need 5#'s of boost to get a nice gain - which means a tiny turbo...

Hey falcn, how about a turbo diesel version of say the KLR650?

Posted by: Falcn

paper - that would ROCK!

OK so maybe turbos aren't so bad for bikes then if the lag is not much.

Yeah... but can it wheelie

You can never have too much power, be too thin or too rich...or too horny...
