Does anyone know of a fuel valve (petcock, etc.) company that makes one to fit a 5/8" (16mm) tank bung? I need one to fit a 1981 Honda CB400T. So far two Honda ones have failed on me, and I really would like another option than just getting a new Honda one...granted the ones that failed were 24 years old. I already checked out Pingel and they dont make a 16mm adapter. Ryan has scoured the internet and has turned up nothing. Please let me know! I really want to get back on the road!!
Thanks in advance

Yeap - Pingel only makes an adaptor for the 22mm and the 18mm threaded tank bungs.

Dang, Pingel was what I was going to reccomend. I don't know of anyone else. What about rebuilding the original petcock?

Riveted - no kits.
I could possibly drill out the rivets and replace with little screws and nuts - but then I would have to source the new viton washer thing somehow.....

Well...guess I should just order the stupid Honda fuel valve if no one else knows of any alternatives.

Can you get an adapter for the Pingel made at a machine shop? I wouldn't think that it would be expensive.

Ooh good idea - have to see if anyone knows of a good shop around here.

Thats a good idea. Ryan said what we could also try is get a pingel adapter plate (rather than their adapter nut) and cut off the existing fuel tank bung. Thats what he did for his thumper and it worked very well.

Yeah Id go the machine shop route then you can relocate it and use anything you like (easy to get and cheap i mean) I bet it should not cost you more then 40 bucks or so and its a one time cost.

Do you have a part #? Ryan e-mail me exactly what you need. I know someone who should have it.

She ordered a new one from Honda. We have the part number - thanks for asking, though.

If you need anything Honda related in the future just let me know.

I'll keep that in mind.
