Anyone heard of them? Used them?

I just saw their banner over on Traxxion's website.

They have some nice looking products - some of the shocks they sell even have remote hydraulic preload adjusters (which I am a big fan of!).

Maybe some day I will have a bike that can take one of their shocks...

do they make shocks for the Monster? Im too lazy to look myself

Planning mods for a bike you don't even have yet?

And, they're supposedly decent. Started making suspension components for bikes about 2 or 3 years ago now, I think... Apparently were pretty well known in the ATV market before that.

You really think a Monster will need aftermarket stuff? They use top drawer suspension anyways, and a Monster will feel like the best bike ever going from what you are on now.

Elka is huge in the off-road cycle and ATV market.

For the price, Elka, Ohlins, and Penske are in the same neighborhood. Every racer on the world stage uses Ohlins. While, they may have a lot of money, no one can afford to sponser everyone, wihch is why I assume they sponser no one. Plus, Ohlins is owned by Yamaha right now. You think the Honda would have ohlins on it if it wasn't clearly better than other alternatives? For the price, I say, ohlins.

I didn't compare prices...Ohlins may also not be available for all bikes.

Kristen - yes they make them for the Monster - but as Dave said - Monsters come with pretty decent suspension (the better Monster models anyway) - ESPECIALLY when compared to the CB.

I think "most" stock suspensions are very good if you fall in the weight class they were designed for...

Ehh, most stock suspensions are OK at best if you are in the right weight class. Unless its a brand new SS bike, the dampening rates usually aren't real great. If I had a choice between Ohlins and Penske, I'd probably chose Penske, they make some really great shocks. I think most people run Ohlins because they have the biggest name in the bussiness, and they are reasonably priced as suspension goes.

Think of Elka being the Ohlins of the ATV world.

Looks like they have some really nice stuff. Actually, so does Wilbers. They are pricey, but from what I have seen and read about them, they are top notch too.

True, pretty much ANYTHING will feel like a La-Z-Boy after the CB. I was just assuming any bike I were to get would be sprung for someone much heavier than me and I would need lighter springs.

you've never rode a supersport before have you?

Elka is the cream of the crop in the off road world; however, I would give them a few more years of R&D on the street side so they can acquire a proven track record.
