This one thread forced me to register...haha. It's funny because I live in Asia and a pregnant woman on a scooter....is nothing odd at all out here.

I've seen a man riding a scooter using only one hand....while cradling a baby with the other arm.

One time I confronted a woman who was running red lights without checking first...and her child on the back. I pulled up beside her and told her that if she wanted to kill her child there were quicker and easier ways than running reds. She tried accelerating...and then braking to get away from me. So I started talking to the kid....I said "Your mother wants you to die. She wants to see your head cracked open and your blood pouring out onto the road. Your mother doesn't care about you."

I'm sure some of you will think I was being a bit melodramatic....but anything less would have been forgotten within seconds.

That's awsome! My twisted humor got a belly laugh out of that. I think I'm gonna say that next time I see a kid riding without a bike helmet (the law here, but M/C helmets are optional)

It's funny you mention that.... On our local forum (where this sighting was initially posted) a girl (who happens to be pregnant) posted up that she, too, rides around town in her current state, and with her toddler en tow as well. This of course caused even more of an upraor.

Her defense was that this is the norm in much of Asia (she's not Asian, by the way). Our response was that's one of the only widely available modes of transportation there, but that's not the case here in the U.S.

Needless to say, it got REALLY ugly (locked thread kinda ugly).
