I was just planning on heading up to north Georgia to ride the loop but...

It all started at dark:30, I wanted to get away due to somethings that have been bothering me lately. Nothing a bike ride wouldn't help!

There's not enough numbers there, I'll have to fix that..

I sat out to ride from Bremen, Ga to Deals gap. With minimal interstate. I took back roads to hwy92, then headed north. I took I-575 to hwy 515 up to eljay.

Fine dinning at the BK was the first stop.

From there, I THOUGHT I was heading in the right direction until I made a left on Tn hwy68, instead of Ga hwy 60. Figured out I was in the wrong place when I saw this little sign. Time to get the atlas out. (it comes out a lot today)

Figured out what to do to get me heading towards the right direction. So I sat off on some little road back over to US129. But hit another hwy instead. Had to get the atlas out...

I figured out where I was at and finally got over to 129. Took 129 up through Robinsonville, then up to 129 and 28...

Been a while since I was here.

Ran the gap twice. The required overlook shots..

From that point. I headed down 129 back into GA. There was a short delay, due to road construction. The got about 10 miles down the road and another stop. Come to find out a motorcycle and a truck were in an accident. Don't think the rider faired well. As I couldn't tell what kinda bike it was.

I followed 129 more. According to a sign I was to make a right. But this lead me on 515. After passing a sign and not seeing 129 listed I doubled back.

Oh guess what. I missed 129 yet again!

Finally I got back on 129. I had enough by the time I got to 129 and 180. I took 180 over to Suches. The Strom is awesome on 180! I LOVE IT! I stopped at Dale's for something to eat (2:40pm!)

I headed back up 60 north to Morganton. WATCH OUT! There's gravel all over 60 north of 180! I ended back up on 515. Then back down 575. I got off at Barrett Parkway to get gas. Frankenstrom took 5.1 gallons! I was really low!

I took back roads to GA 120. Headed west to a couple of back roads to drop me back down to Bremen. I got home about 7:30. Still had daylight. But I had to as work had called about a system being down.

And the new numbers on the speedo...

551 miles today.

All backroads with the exception of 575. I should be able to handle the Iron Butt ride in Nov with no problem. I did 551 on mostly back roads, in 13hrs.

And the best mod for any bike! The Strom needed to be broken in like the rest of the stock

Now, it's time to get a GPS...

Very nice. Surprised you didn't come by Fontana Village though. Could have stayed the evening and had beer aound the campfire with us.
