Hey,

I'm looking for an older model Kawasaki Ex500, or Ninja 500. Preferably 94+, but will look at older models. I'm looking for my first bike, and am looking to spend 3 grand tops. If anyone is looking to unload one, I'd be more than happy to check it out. I live outside of Philadelphia, PA, so either locals, or some sort of shipping or road trip would have to be worked out.

Thanks -
Tomkeazy

Excellent choice.

Not an EX - but a good bike.

Good choice. Welcome. I live in Malvern, not too far from you. There will be lots og bikes for sale now that it's getting colder.

Not a bad alternative to the EX500 for a first bike; the Yamaha Seca II XJ600 - this 1995 one is going for $1000.

Which ones ya looking at? Clue us in!

If you don't know bikes - take someone from this site to help you out when you go to check them.

Right now, I'm lookin at the Seca. Any info you could give me would help. I am also looking at a GS500, one of the members PM'd me with. Again, any info, the better. I go to school during the week, and work nights, so next time I get a few hours, I'm going to drive out and check them out.

That Seca you sent me the link to: It went up at 11:30 today, I sent an email at 3:30, and I got a reply at 6 saying he allready got a deposit on it, and that it is sold. lol Talk about turnover.

I'm checking out another one, a 94 for 1100, as well as a gs500. Any other bikes in that genre, let me know. Thanks for all the help guys, especially you falcn, you are practically my personal salesman I think at this point. lol You are a lifesaver!

My pleasure. I enjoy helping new riders get into the sport and inform them of other bikes that might meet their requirements that they don't even know exist out there. Just wait till your brother starts looking! He'll have my truck and trailer available to pick something up if he needs it.

I also found one of our other friends first bike for him last month - it's a good feeling.

The SECA 2 is a popular motorcycle, so I am not surprised it went quick for that price. One of our members here has one and he is an experienced rider and has more then one machine - thats says something for the Seca.

The Seca is an excellent bike, but so are all of your choices. You won't go wrong with a Seca, a EX500, or a GS500. All are great starter bikes, easy to work on, and bulletproof designs.

BTW: Falcn has proved once again that he is the true Master of the Interweb.

Dave I know YOU know all of the good classifieds sites to check too.

can't go wrong with the ex, rode one for 4 years, great bike to learn on.

My buddy is the one with the GS500. I just need to go take a few pics.

Don't listen to falcn either. He just googles everything. He needs to change his name to cyberfalcn!

If you don't mind one from Texas, mine might be on the market.

Posted by: Tomkeazy

Hey, I'll hear any offer. Worst thing that happens is I say no.

Besides, how much could shipping be anyway? LIke ten, fifteen bucks? lol Just Kidding.

Posted by: Freakinout

I'd like to get 2,500 or so for my 500, no idea what shipping would run, most likely 350-400 bucks. Its late, otherwise I'd find some fresh pictures and stuff.

Kyle's (Freakinout) bike is pretty nice, although I think it used to suffer from GBS.

Yup, sure did. After running in about a million circles a good valve adjustment did a lot of good!

Posted by: 87hurricane

He he he. I feel your pain, I did that on an EX250 one time, drove me freakin nuts.

Posted by: Lance

96 Yammie Seca 600

Its at a dealer in Hanover PA...decent price, decent dealer.

Posted by: Tomkeazy

GBS? What's that?

Posted by: 87hurricane

Kind of an inside joke. When Kyle kept having problems with his bike I told him it was Gay Bike Syndrome.

It was the best way to describe it, problem would disappear and reappear and almost drove me to insanity.

After getting the work done, I realized that it wasn't very expensive (inline twin) and that I shoulda just done it from the get-go.
