Well I finally traded in the Vmax for a new bike. I loved the Max but Ive been itching for a true sportbike. Ive never owned one really (the Katana is a tourer) Ive been lusting over R6's for years and I just want something that is light and nimble. This should do the trick. Im over the power thing!

Its a 2001 with 10K miles. Its the cleanest used bike I have ever seen...there are no scratches, nothing as far as blemishes. The only thing I dont like is the can.

Im picking it up later this week. I cant wait to readjust to this style of riding. Too bad the season is almost over!

Wooot. right color too. Nice.

I'm with Falcn, nice color scheme! Congrats!

yeah for some reason Ive always been partial to the red yamahas

Nice, but its always been blue yammies for me. I know they are a dime a dozen, but its because they look so good! I've lusted over R6s for years, but I can't justify a SS bike as my only right now, so they will have to wait.

I've got two blue R6's, but I've always like the old school look of the red in the first gens.

You'll love that bike. My '01 R6 has been absolutely a blast, and completely dependable.

Wow that is a realy nice looking ride!!!
I like the red as well. Why don't you like the can?

Posted by: Thunderbunny

Congrats you gonna love it!!!

Posted by: 0215

I dunno, I dont have any experience with a Hindle. But its too long for my liking. I dont like the look of ir, Id rather a Micron

Posted by: 87hurricane

Bah, just cut the can down a little if you don't like it. End result will be a shorter, louder exhaust.

Posted by: VonKujo

Very nice. I do like like the Yami Blue better then the Red but still a sweet bike. You planing to do any upgrades to it or just ride it?

Posted by: Diesel

Nice, Congrats

Posted by: 0215

maybe some small upgrades. My wife would kill me if I spent alot more money right now! Fender eliminator, i might cut the can down or replace it, new turn signals, and I want a seat cowl for the passenger seat

sweet!

Congrats!

Sweet!! Love the red. If you can find a "white bros" pipe for it somewhere, I know for a fact that on that bike, they sound unbelievable. Very very tight, and a perfect tone. Don't know of they still make them though, you may have to search far and wide.

Posted by: Falcn

I think they only do off-road pipes now.

Posted by: R1Armadillo

Very nice! Gotta stay with the blue though... the '01s so far have been my fav paint/ graphic scheme. I did like that they made the red ones look different than the blues with the graphics.
Is it just a slip on? or is there a full system? I always liked the sound of the akropovic on the R6. $$

Posted by: R1Armadillo

THe one thing I didn't like about the 01 R6 was how the tail had that kink in it. Guess it would have made it too much like the R1.

Posted by: 0215

i thought it looked like a full system, but the sales guy says its a slip...so who knows.

Nice ride. hindle pipes are really nice quality too.

Nice scooter. But everyone is wrong, Yammies are meant to be YELLOW! (or white with red accents, but only if yellow ain't available).

Posted by: R1Armadillo

As it relates to the yellow it would kind of be nice if they went back to racing yellow so you could tell the bikes on the track at a glance. And since Ducs are gone again Honda remains red, Zuks can stay blue, Kaws green; no one would be confused

Posted by: 0215

they did have the yellow last year

Posted by: R1Armadillo

yeah, but they only ran it during the GP.

Posted by: 0215

no i mean the anniversary paint on the r1 and r6 sold was yellow, not in racing

Posted by: whitemax

really nice bike Ken.
