OK, the initial reason for this thread was for my car, but I guess the question could go for bikes too. I am about to replace my plugs and wires in my car.
I thought I heard somewhere that you should use a silicon spray in the new wires before you attach them for waterproofing purposes. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Should this also be done on the bike?

Use di-electric grease, just better for peace of mind.

ok, how about not using anything at all, or if I didn't have it now, could I get it later and apply?

and how much? little dab ull do ya or what?

I never use anything, because the plug caps themselves create a seal. However if you wanted to use something, a small dab of silicone grease/dielectric grease will work just fine, you don't need much.

dielectric grease - makes getting them on/off in the future easier. I squirt a semi-generous amount in the plug boot. You can do it any time after the initial installation too.

You can get it just about anywhere, and at some places, you can even get a tiny foil packet of it since you use so little. Just a dab to keep it a little moist between any electrical connection is a good idea to me. I use it on plugs and wires.
